Job summary

Mercy Care Atlanta is seeking a Social Worker (Senior Behavioral Health Specialist) to enhance patient care through psychosocial assessments, therapy, and integrated care within an interdisciplinary team.

Under the guidance of the Coordinator of Behavioral Health Services, you will perform assessments, provide counseling, manage crisis situations, and collaborate with primary care teams on care management. Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in human services or related field with licensure required.
• Minimum five years of mental health/substance abuse recovery experience.
• Proficiency in psychosocial assessments and thorough documentation.
• Valid Georgia driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting; Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform psychosocial assessments and create treatment plans.
• Provide counseling, therapy, and education to patients.
• Execute involuntary commitment orders and manage crisis situations.
• Offer face-to-face linkage and ongoing case management services.
• Collaborate with primary care teams to develop care management processes.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and community health events.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on behavioral health care and prevention.
• Provide clinical guidance and support to the behavioral health services team.
