Job summary

Gainwell Technologies is seeking a Behavioral Health Physician (Autism & ABA Therapy) for a remote, 9-12 month assignment in the U.S. The senior clinician will ensure medical necessity, provide oversight of ABA-related services, and guide policy development.

This role requires California licensure, MD/DO, and board certification in psychiatry or related fields. You will collaborate with clinical, operational, and client teams to improve access to high-quality services, review appeals, and

Qualifications

• MD or DO with active, unrestricted U.S. medical license.
• Board certification in Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics, Neurology, or related specialty.
• Minimum of five years post-residency clinical experience in autism and behavioral health.

Responsibilities

• Serve as physician subject matter expert for Behavioral Health, ASD, and ABA therapy programs.
• Review complex authorization requests and medical necessity determinations.
• Provide clinical guidance to utilization management, quality, and operations teams.
• Interpret Medicaid regulations and behavioral health guidelines to support compliance.
• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to improve outcomes and access to services.
