Job summary

White & Case seeks an Associate Director, Business Development in New York to shape and drive BD strategy for the firm’s practice groups. You will partner with practice and industry leaders to identify high-value client opportunities, guide multi-disciplinary initiatives, and translate market insight into actionable plans.

You will lead complex pursuits and serve as a trusted advisor to partners and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• Significant experience in business development within a complex professional services environment; legal sector experience preferred.
• Deep expertise in core BD disciplines (client strategy and planning, pitching and pursuit management, market positioning and thought leadership).
• Ability to operate cross-functionally and cross-practice, influencing senior stakeholders in a matrix environment.
• Proven commercial acumen and analytical capability; use data and market insight to advise leadership.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Strategic planning and client cultivation with practice and industry leaders.
• Oversee tailored proposals and pitches for key matters; collaborate across practices.
• Develop thought leadership and external positioning aligned with growth priorities.
