Job summary

MPA Recruitment is seeking a Sr Business Development Director to lead growth for a CRO on the West Coast.

You will promote early-stage clinical services, build key client relationships, and develop account plans for major biopharma accounts.

This role requires strong sales leadership, strategic networking at industry events, and collaboration with the EVP to shape business development strategy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in CRO or pharma sales/BD.
• Experience selling Phase I–IV clinical services.
• Strong client relationship and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote and sell BioPharma’s early-stage clinical services and hit sales targets.
• Build long-term client relationships and develop account plans for key clients.
• Liaise with Contracts to manage and approve budget proposals for RFPs/RFIs.
• Organize industry conferences and client events (5–10 meetings/year).
• Report opportunities and sales pipeline to the EVP of Commercial Operations.
• Support development and execution of business development strategies and plans.
• Provide market intelligence and marketing support.
• Ensure compliance with BioPharma SOPs, GCP and ICH guidelines.
