Job summary

Invenergy is seeking a Sr. Staff Engineer to drive engineering activities for utility‑scale battery storage projects across North America.

This role focuses on design, evaluation, and coordination with OEMs, the development team, and permitting authorities. Responsibilities include conceptual layouts, site due diligence, and collaboration with electrical, project management, and operations teams to enable successful project execution.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years engineering experience.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Interface with battery, inverter, and padmount transformer OEMs to obtain technical information and stay apprised of technology advancements and trends.
• Prepare conceptual project layouts utilizing QGIS, CAD, or Visio software.
• Optimize layouts to maximize project value.
• Conduct site visits to support site evaluation, suitability, and due diligence efforts.
• Assist the Development team with permitting efforts at federal, state, and local levels.
• Support cross-functional initiatives including safety and template improvements.
• Manage layout and design of the battery array and coordinate with vendors for compatibility.
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineering to support electrical system design and compliance.
• Coordinate with Project Management and Operations through project development to operations.
• Ensure timely transfer of technical responsibilities.
• Participate in landowner meetings and community outreach.
