General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Battery State Estimation at Milford Proving Ground, MI. You will own SOC/SOH/SOP estimation end-to-end from concept to deployment in a Hybrid SDV environment, delivering production‑grade software and validating it in virtual and physical environments.

The role emphasizes creation of robust estimation algorithms, model-based development, and early defect detection through advanced testing, while collaborating across cross‑functional teams

Competenze

• Embedded software experience for high‑voltage battery systems or similar complex engineering systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
• Experience deploying SOC, SOH, SOP estimation algorithms in vehicles.
• MATLAB/Simulink and Python modeling, analysis, automation, and MBD workflows.
• MIL, SIL, and HIL verification in software and controls.
• Agile/Scrum in automotive programs.

Mansioni

• Design, develop, and productionize battery state estimation algorithms for SOC, SOH, SOP.
• Develop observers and filters (Kalman-based, electrochemical-informed models) across temperature ranges and aging.
• Incorporate aging effects into estimation logic for multiple chemistries and pack architectures.
• Implement production‑quality embedded software in C/C++ meeting safety and MISRA standards.
• Architect modular software with hardware abstraction for reuse across programs.
• Define calibration and model-based strategies to improve robustness.
• Lead verification including MIL, SIL, HIL and early defect discovery.
• Develop CI-integrated regression and robustness tests.
