Job summary

Blue Current is seeking a hands-on Senior Technician to support daily operations in its solid-state battery R&D and prototyping labs in Hayward, CA. You will execute fabrication steps, operate equipment such as gloveboxes, coaters, and mixers, and maintain precise records under established workflows.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree in a technical field and 3+ years in technical, lab, or precision manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a technical field; hands-on lab/manufacturing experience preferred.
3+ years of hands-on experience in a technical, lab, or precision manufacturing environment such as batteries, semiconductors, medical devices, aerospace, or automotive.

Responsibilities

Execute R&D fabrication processes including slurry mixing, coating, calendering, cutting, stacking, pouch sealing, and testing.
Operate and maintain a wide range of equipment (manual and automated), including gloveboxes, coaters, mixers, and diagnostic tools.
Follow established work orders, SOPs, and documentation protocols; contribute to updates and improvements as needed.
Prepare, stage, and move materials to support daily lab operations and workflow efficiency.
Execute troubleshooting activities, contribute to root cause identification, and implement corrective actions.
Maintain and uphold high standards for lab organization, safety, and compliance, proactively identifying and addressing gaps.
