Job summary

Saft America, Inc. is seeking an ESS Service Engineer to support the Operations & Maintenance of installed ESS projects in Jacksonville, FL. The role ensures readiness for transition to LTSA and closes out engineering actions and punchlists after project delivery.

You will collaborate with Saft technicians, service managers, and authorized agents during LTSA and O&M periods. The position requires expertise in DC/AC coupled ESS, system integration, and ESS controller design, with emphasis on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering field.
• 8+ years of experience in systems/electrical engineering.
• Knowledge of power and battery systems and controls.

Responsibilities

• Validate project documentation with the engineering team.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform root cause analysis with customers/subcontractors.
• Understand BESS, PCS, PMS, and SCADA interfaces; review diagrams.
• Review BESS integration specs post-transition to O&M and augment as needed.
• Develop work instructions for Saft personnel and subcontractors.
• Support bids with technical input and feedback to improve processes.
• Submit JIRA tickets for analysis and product improvement.
• Coordinate annual performance tests and generate test reports.
• Provide safety-focused engineering support and lead RCA.
• Comply with NFPA 855, UL9540/UL9540A/UL1973/UL1642/UL1741SA and other codes.
