Job summary

1X in San Carlos, California is seeking a Materials and Battery Compliance Engineer to lead compliance efforts across their humanoid robot platform. The ideal candidate will drive certification programs and interpret global regulatory requirements to ensure product safety and market access.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in battery and materials compliance, along with a thorough understanding of UL certification processes and related safety standards. The compensation is competitive, ranging from $171,000 – $200,000 plus equity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in battery compliance, materials compliance, or product certification engineering.
• Hands-on experience with UL certification processes and related battery safety standards.
• Direct experience with standards including UN 38.3, UL 1642, UL 2054, IEC 62133-2:2017, and ANSI/NEMA C18.
• Strong working knowledge of global materials regulations including RoHS, REACH, WEEE, Conflict Minerals, and California Prop 65.

Responsibilities

• Lead battery and materials compliance efforts across the humanoid robot platform.
• Develop and execute global certification strategies for battery systems.
• Translate regulatory requirements into actionable engineering requirements.
• Own compliance documentation, labeling requirements, and certification evidence packages.
