Job summary

Newmark is seeking a BAS Technician/Control Systems Specialist to program, calibrate, commission and monitor DDC/BAS systems across North America. You will ensure sequences of operation align with project docs and coordinate with clients and project teams.

The role requires 5–7 years of startup/checkout experience, strong HVAC and control theory knowledge, and hands-on work with ABB, Siemens, KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell. IP networking experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of DDC/BAS control system startup, checkout, and service experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management.
• Ability to understand control theories and field devices/instrumentation in respect to HVAC systems.
• Programming and troubleshooting with ABB, Siemens, KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell and equivalents.
• Experience with pneumatic controls.
• IP networking: subnets, VLANs, routing, routers, firewalls.
• Training and mentoring other BAS technicians and facility management teams.

Responsibilities

• Program databases for all supported systems to meet specified sequences of operation and equipment manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Calibrate and checkout control systems to meet commissioning obligations.
• Assist graphics coordinators for GUI preparation and delivery when required.
• Instruct customer personnel on operation and maintenance of BAS.
• Monitor BAS systems and resolve equipment performance issues.
• Schedule maintenance tasks aligned with issues alarmed on the BAS system.
• Standardize BAS architecture across multiple North American facilities.
• Oversee the BAS Reliability program in use.
