Job summary

Kelso Building Services is seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Service Technician to support and grow our BAS service business across the Wasatch region. This role involves troubleshooting complex building systems, working directly with customers, mentoring junior technicians, and helping facilities operate at peak performance.

As an HVAC Controls Technician, you will support commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, retail, and mission-critical facilities while leveraging KBS’s advanced

Qualifications

• 3+ years of BAS service experience.
• Strong HVAC troubleshooting knowledge.
• Experience reading control drawings and sequences of operation.
• Experience commissioning and servicing DDC systems.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background screening and drug testing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair BAS control systems and field devices.
• Diagnose HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and service agreement inspections.
• Support controller replacements, upgrades, migrations, and system expansions.
• Validate sequences of operation and optimize system performance.
• Assist with commissioning, retro-commissioning, and startup activities.
• Complete point-to-point verification and functional performance testing.
• Maintain accurate documentation and system backups.
• Develop strong customer relationships and act as primary technical contact.
