Job summary

Design Hire LLC, based in Phoenix, AZ, seeks an experienced controls engineer to design, program, configure, and troubleshoot BAS and HVAC systems. You will develop PLC programs (RSLogix/Omron) and configure HMI/SCADA (AVEVA/Wonderware, Ignition), performing I/O mapping and field validation.

The role requires hands-on commissioning, strong BACnet knowledge, and collaboration with multi-discipline teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

5+ years in BAS/HVAC controls, DDC, or automation.
Experience with PLC programming (RSLogix/Omron).
Knowledge of HMI/SCADA (AVEVA/Wonderware, Ignition).
Strong BACnet and control protocol understanding.

Responsibilities

Design, program, configure, and troubleshoot BAS and HVAC controls.
Develop PLC programs using RSLogix/Omron.
Configure HMI/SCADA with AVEVA/Wonderware, Ignition.
Perform I/O mapping, checkout, and validation.
Support DDC and BACnet communications and control sequences.
Commission systems in the field from startup to calibration.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and commissioning teams.
Review drawings, sequences, wiring diagrams, and specs.
Prepare control narratives, test reports, and as-builts.
Assist with upgrades, retrofits, optimization, performance.
