Job summary

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN seeks a Sr. Building Automation Controls Engineer (HVAC) to lead BAS operations, optimize energy use, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across campus facilities.

You will plan and supervise Utility Operations and Facilities Maintenance staff, manage BAS modifications, coordinate with contractors, and mentor the team in proper monitoring and maintenance of the Metasys system.

Qualifications

• Requires 4+ years of relevant experience with building automation systems (or 6+ with an associate degree).
• Experience with building automation systems operation and maintenance preferred.
• Some experience with complex control sequences and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Act on problems affecting BAS and suspend activities if health/safety risk is identified.
• Provide recommendations on operation/modification for energy conservation and reliability.
• Review designs and manage BAS modification projects.
• Ensure BAS monitoring/maintenance complies with policies and regulations.
• Train team members and address escalations.
• Oversee safe operation of BAS and coordinate with contractors for timely reporting.
