Job summary
Facility Engineering Services is seeking a Senior Controls Installation Technician to lead field installation of Building Automation Systems on various projects in the Baltimore/Washington area. You will mentor junior technicians, coordinate with engineering, and ensure work complies with project specs, codes, and safety standards.
The role may involve day or night shifts, outdoor environments, and direct supervision of installation teams and subcontractors on active construction sites.
Qualifications
- Experience leading installation teams on BAS projects.
- Strong ability to mentor junior technicians and ensure safety and quality on site.
- Proficient in reading project specifications and coordinating with engineering.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to installation teams and subcontractors in the field.
- Collaborate with Engineering on control design and installation feasibility.
- Lead installation and execution of BAS projects from start to finish.
- Install and route conduit, cable, and control wiring per standards and codes.
- Mount and terminate controllers, sensors, actuators, and other field devices.
- Troubleshoot and verify field wiring and device functionality using test instruments.
- Escalate field issues or customer concerns for timely resolution.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment on sites.
- Mentor and train junior technicians and support their growth.
- Work day or night shifts as required and on outdoor/open construction areas.
