Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades partners with a leading building automation and controls company to recruit a Senior Controls Specialist for Columbia, SC. The role focuses on design, programming, integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of complex BAS.

Ideal candidates bring extensive BAS experience with Niagara Framework, JCI Metasys, and Distech Controls, plus strong HVAC and networking knowledge. Travel is local with some statewide tasks; schedule is typical daytime hours.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Hands-on experience with Niagara Framework, JCI Metasys, and/or Distech Controls.
• Strong understanding of BAS protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC control systems and building automation technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, integrate, and configure BAS using Niagara, Metasys, and Distech Controllers.
• Lead BAS projects from design through installation, commissioning, and optimization.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of control systems, hardware, software, networks, and integrations.
• Commission and test automation systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, vendors, and clients to meet project requirements.
• Develop and maintain system documentation including schematics and commissioning reports.
