Job summary

Partners Legal Search seeks a Bankruptcy & Restructuring Attorney for its Detroit office. The role targets candidates with 5-7 years of bankruptcy experience to handle complex matters.

Strong knowledge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, solid research and writing skills, and a client-service mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and 5-7 years of bankruptcy and restructuring experience.
• Experience representing creditors, landlords, or supply chain parties is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and familiarity with the Uniform Commercial Code.
• Experience with commercial transactions, workouts, and restructurings, plus advocacy, research, and writing skills.
• Excellent academic credentials, highly organized, detail-oriented, and client-service oriented; business development interest is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Representing business debtors and creditors in bankruptcy matters.
• Advising landlords in bankruptcy proceedings and representing suppliers.
• Handling corporate workouts and restructurings.
• Engaging in commercial transactions involving distressed businesses.
• Handling bankruptcy litigation, motions, briefs, and court filings.
• Developing case strategy and advising clients throughout proceedings.
• Working directly with clients on complex financial and commercial matters.
