Job Title: Senior Bankruptcy Litigation Associate / Special Counsel

Location: NYC (Hybrid)

Salary: $315K-$400K + Aggressive Bonus Structure

Our client, a highly regarded AM100 law firm, is looking to add an experienced Bankruptcy Litigator to its growing New York Restructuring & Bankruptcy practice.

With $315K-$400K compensation, meaningful responsibility on high-stakes bankruptcy matters, and a genuinely close-knit team culture, this is an opportunity for a litigator to join a platform where they can work directly with partners and clients while continuing to build their practice.

The firm is open to candidates from both Big Law and leading mid-size firms, and is equally interested in attorneys who are looking to progress toward partnership or experienced Partners looking for a new platform. Portable business is not required.

The Opportunity

The practice handles sophisticated debtor- and creditor-side bankruptcy litigation, including contested financing, sale and plan disputes, adversary proceedings, claims disputes and appeals.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of bankruptcy litigation experience and be comfortable taking ownership of complex matters, managing discovery and investigations, handling depositions and substantive briefing, and appearing in bankruptcy and federal courts.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead and develop strategy for sophisticated bankruptcy litigation matters
• Handle contested financing, sale and plan disputes, adversary proceedings and appeals
• Draft substantive motions, briefs, pleadings and appellate work
• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for hearings and trial
• Manage discovery, investigations and litigation teams
• Represent creditors, creditors’ committees and other parties-in-interest
• Appear in bankruptcy and federal courts, including SDNY, Delaware, New Jersey and Texas
• Work directly with partners and sophisticated clients on high-stakes matters

What They're Looking For:

• NY-admitted attorney with 7+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with adversary proceedings, contested matters and/or appeals
• Meaningful deposition, briefing and trial experience
• Comfortable appearing in bankruptcy and federal courts
• Experience managing and mentoring junior attorneys
• Federal court admissions, particularly SDNY, the Second Circuit or other federal appellate courts, are a plus
• Candidates from Big Law and strong mid-size firms encouraged to apply
