Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Associate - Business Systems Analyst to support Banking & Financial Services transformation initiatives in North Carolina. You will gather requirements, analyze processes, support reporting, and help deliver large-scale projects with stakeholders across business and technology teams.

The role emphasizes data analysis, BA lifecycle understanding, and collaboration with client stakeholders and delivery teams.

Qualifications

2-5 years as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, or related role.
Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Capital Markets, Finance, Risk, Operations, or related domains.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
Experience working with data, reports, and business insights to support decision-making.
Understanding of system implementation lifecycles and change management processes.
Experience supporting testing activities, UAT coordination, and defect management.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and system requirements.
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams.
Conduct current-state assessments and support future-state process design.
Analyze data and reporting outputs to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Support reporting and business intelligence initiatives through data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.
Create business requirements documents, user stories, process flows, and other project documentation.
Support testing activities, including test case creation, UAT coordination, defect tracking, and issue resolution.
Assist with implementation, deployment, and post-go-live support activities.
Monitor project risks, issues, dependencies, and action items.
Support process improvement initiatives and recommend operational efficiencies.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and project status meetings.
Develop and maintain SOPs, business process documentation, and stakeholder communications.
