Job summary

Bank of the Orient seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to support the CFO and senior management in financial planning, forecasting, capital strategy, and ALCO analysis. You will build dynamic models and deliver FP&A insights to guide liquidity and profitability.

The role requires strong analytical and modeling skills, banking knowledge, and experience with Excel; Power BI and SQL are a bonus. This on-site position in the Bay Area offers opportunities to influence strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required or MBA preferred.
• 3-5 years of FP&A experience within banking or financial institutions.
• Advanced Excel modeling skills; familiarity with Power BI, SQL or similar tools is a plus.
• Understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance rules.
• Ability to read and analyze financial data and recognize conflicts.
• Independent judgment and problem-solving ability.
• Strong multi-priority management in fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; familiarity with accounting programs.
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform annual budget, monthly variance analysis, quarterly forecasts and multi-year financial projections.
• Manage the budget process by reviewing and explaining budget variances with executives/senior managers.
• Support the CFO and Controller with monthly ALCO packages, including NIM, rate sensitivity, and liquidity analysis.
• Prepare management and board-level financial reports summarizing profitability, liquidity, and capital metrics.
• Build and maintain dynamic financial models for loan and deposit growth, margin projections, and capital metrics.
• Conduct yield and cost-of-funds analysis across market regions to inform deposit and funding strategy.
• Contribute to capital planning, stress testing, and public-company readiness initiatives.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic initiatives.
• Perform liquidity planning and cash forecasting for the Bank.
• Forecast and manage liquidity needs through daily cash flow analysis.
