Job summary

German American Bank seeks a Corporate Counsel to act as a trusted advisor on banking, regulatory, and operational matters. You will partner with leaders to identify legal risks and craft practical solutions that align with strategic goals.

Responsibilities include managing litigation, handling subpoenas, drafting agreements, and guiding risk, governance, and product initiatives. Requires a JD and active bar license in IN/KY/OH with potential Indiana licensure within two years.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license and in good standing to practice law in Indiana, Kentucky, or Ohio; must become licensed in Indiana within two years if not already licensed.

Responsibilities

• Provide business-focused legal guidance across banking, regulatory, and operational matters.
• Manage litigation and coordinate with outside counsel; respond to subpoenas and regulatory requests.
• Review, analyze and draft customer agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, and other documents.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks with cross-functional partners; develop policies and procedures.
