The Corporate Counsel at German American Bank provides business-focused legal guidance across banking, regulatory, and operational matters. This role partners with leaders to identify legal risks and develop compliant solutions aligned with strategic objectives.

You'll manage litigation support, review contracts, advise on regulatory issues, and coordinate with outside counsel while collaborating across the organization to protect the Bank's interests and enable sound business decisions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Indiana, Kentucky, or Ohio; if not licensed in Indiana, commitment to obtain within two years.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance across banking, regulatory, and operational matters.
• Manage litigation support, subpoena response, contract review, and regulatory issues.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Information Security, Internal Audit, and business leaders to identify and mitigate risks.
• Review, analyze and draft customer agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, and other commercial agreements.
• Assist with policy development and strategic initiatives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
