Job summary

Scotiabank Senior Manager, Bank Regulatory Compliance leads U.S. regulatory and treasury compliance programs across the bank’s U.S. operations.

You will coordinate with the U.S. Legal Department and global compliance teams, provide strategic guidance on new laws, maintain control procedures, and drive regulatory change initiatives across multiple jurisdictions. This role requires a college degree and 1–3 years in bank regulatory or treasury compliance plus 3+ years in compliance; strong

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of bank regulatory or treasury experience and at least 3 years of compliance experience.
• Familiarity with Federal and state banking laws and regulations relating to banking activities.
• Knowledge of U.S. securities and commodities laws (helpful).
• Proficient in Microsoft applications; strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Bank Regulatory Compliance program for U.S. activities, including New York and Houston offices.
• Advise front office and control functions on regulatory changes, risk and opportunities.
• Maintain and update compliance control procedures and monitoring activities; provide cyclical updates.
• Oversee regulatory developments, enforcement actions, and cross-border regulatory change approaches.
• Participate in risk assessments, monitoring, surveillance, testing and mapping of regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to the development of training programs for front office and control personnel.
• Ensure operations align with risk appetite, risk culture and conduct risk.
• Collaborate with industry groups and high-impact special projects.
