Job summary

Affirm is seeking an experienced professional for the Bank Model Risk Management team to validate complex credit and fraud models and build automated monitoring tools using Python. You will collaborate with model developers to remediate findings and work with Audit, Controls, and Compliance to address regulatory requests.

This is a remote-first role supporting bank-owned models and internal Bank operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in technical capacity such as Credit/Fraud/Financial Risk Modeling, Model Validation, or Quantitative Analytics.
• Deep understanding of consumer credit lifecycle and/or fraud detection.
• Strong Python (pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels) for modeling/backtesting.
• Proficient in SQL for large datasets and data lineage audits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent validations of credit/fraud models focusing on conceptual soundness, data integrity, and performance stability.
• Develop automated Python monitoring suites for drift, PSI, and feature importance shifts in real-time.
• Remediate validation findings with model developers to ensure robustness and compliance.
• Coordinate with Audit, Controls, and Compliance to address audit/regulatory requests.
• Support Bank Model Risk Management function and validation requirements for bank-owned models.
