Job summary

First National Bank of Williamson is seeking a Senior Accountant to support daily accounting and financial operations, including general ledger work, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Hybrid schedule is available after training, with close collaboration with the CFO and accounting team.

The role requires 2–4 years of accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel skills, plus the ability to handle month-end and year-end processes in a regulated banking environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant accounting experience may be considered.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience required
• Working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with bank accounting, regulatory reporting, and Call Report preparation preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to learn and effectively use the bank’s core, general ledger, and financial reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting, including preparing and posting journal entries and maintaining supporting documentation.
• Reconcile general ledger, correspondent bank, cash, and other balance sheet accounts and research discrepancies.
• Assist with daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting processes and financial close.
• Assist with preparation of internal financial statements, management reports, schedules, and supporting financial analysis.
• Support accounts payable, expense accounting, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other general accounting functions as assigned.
• Assist the Controller and CFO with Call Report preparation, regulatory reporting, and supporting schedules.
• Research and resolve accounting differences, outstanding items, and unusual transactions in coordination with other bank departments.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with internal controls, GAAP, bank policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and financial reviews.
• Assist with budgeting, financial projects, process improvements, and other accounting initiatives as assigned.
