The First National Bank Of Williamson in Fort Wright, KY is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting and financial operations with a hybrid schedule after training. The role will focus on general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting under supervision of the Controller and accounting team.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and have 2–4 years of accounting experience, with strong GAAP knowledge and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2–4 years of accounting experience preferred; banking or financial institution experience strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Experience with bank accounting, regulatory reporting, or Call Report preparation preferred
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to learn and effectively use the bank’s core, general ledger, and financial reporting systems

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting, including preparing and posting journal entries and maintaining supporting documentation
• Reconcile general ledger, correspondent bank, cash, and other balance sheet accounts and research discrepancies
• Assist with daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting processes and financial close
• Assist with preparation of internal financial statements, management reports, schedules, and supporting financial analysis
• Support accounts payable, expense accounting, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other general accounting functions as assigned
• Assist the Controller and CFO with Call Report preparation, regulatory reporting, and supporting schedules
• Research and resolve accounting differences, outstanding items, and unusual transactions in coordination with other bank departments
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with internal controls, GAAP, bank policies, and applicable regulatory requirements
• Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and financial reviews
• Assist with budgeting, financial projects, process improvements, and other accounting initiatives as assigned
