SENIOR BACTERIOLOGY TECHNICIAN B

Job Description

Cape Fox subsidiary Eagle Health, LLC is accepting resumes for a SENIOR BACTERIOLOGY TECHNICIAN to support the members at Ft. Detrick, Maryland. This position is contingent upon contract award.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this exempt position has been established at: $85,000-$95,000.

The above salary range represents the company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. We offer a variety of benefits including company holidays, paid time off, health, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, and a 401K with company match. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Lead/PI in molecular microbiological experiments, including animal protocols.
  2. Complete opsonic adherence assays testing efficacy of animal sera.
  3. Perform ELISAs for various vaccine strategies and mAb identifications.
  4. Prepare reagents/media for the lab.
  5. Plate LB plates for bacterial isolation.
  6. Isolate and purify plasmid DNA specimens.
  7. Label and count Ames samples for ratio analysis.
  8. Order lab supplies and equipment.
  9. Present data and progress reports.
  10. Conduct immunological and antibody determinations.
  11. Perform ELISAs on serum samples.
  12. Analyze cytokines using Luminex.
  13. Perform flow cytometry tasks.
  14. Conduct cell biology and microbiological tests.
  15. Maintain data and manage laboratory equipment.
  16. Complete bacterial toxin neutralization assays.
  17. Perform animal challenges and bacterial challenge preparations.
  18. Handle animal injections, observations, and tissue burdens.
  19. Prepare DNA, PCR, and gel analyses.
  20. Prepare cloning plasmids and sequencing reactions.
  21. Manage media preparations and BSL-3 assays.
  22. Review literature, train personnel, and assist with project planning.
  23. Manage inventory and conduct safety and inspection duties.
  24. Plan and perform animal experiments under BSL-3 conditions.
  25. Present research findings and prepare reports.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining compliance with regulations, assisting in SOPs and manuscripts, and participating in conferences. Travel may be required.

Job Requirements
  • CS-PRP and BPRP enrollment and maintenance.
  • Ability to work under deadlines, handle stress, and deliver results.
  • Long hours and weekends may be required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Authorization to work in the US, US citizenship, and a valid passport.
