Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer to design and implement high-throughput, low-latency Java services for the next-generation CPQ platform and large-scale commerce systems.

You will partner with product management and engineering to deliver customer-focused solutions using agile practices, build distributed systems for multiple routes to market, and integrate with billing, invoicing, tax, contracts, supply chain, and manufacturing to improve performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience building web applications and integrations.
• Experience designing and implementing high-throughput, low-latency Java services using Java 17+ and Spring Boot or equivalent frameworks.
• Experience building distributed systems with availability, latency, and scalability requirements.
• Experience with CI/CD and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, Spinnaker, and Docker.
• Practical experience with AI coding tools, and proficiency with MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and cloud-native technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency Java services to power Cisco’s CPQ platform and large-scale commerce systems.
• Partner with product management and engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions using agile development practices.
• Build and support distributed systems enabling multiple routes to market (direct, partners, distributors, subscriptions).
• Integrate commerce platforms with critical enterprise systems (billing, invoicing, tax, contracts, supply chain, manufacturing).
• Drive engineering excellence by influencing AI-assisted development practices and improving system performance and user experience.
