Job summary

RCT Systems in Reston, VA seeks a Senior Software Developer to work on a large backend-focused team delivering web services and backend solutions. You will collaborate with developers, DevOPS, security, and systems/data engineers on a full stack project with backend emphasis.

The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph, a related IT degree, and strong Java/JAX-WS skills. On-call responsibilities start after onboarding, with core hours 9–3, 5 days/wk.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
• BS degree in a related information technology discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
• Strong Java programming skills / Java persistence API experience for complex database schemas
• Java web services experience (JAX/WS)
• Strong understanding, knowledge of Linux (CLI)
• Experience in working on teams utilizing Agile workflows and processes
• Working knowledge of the Spring frameworks/Boot

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a large team of developers, DevOPS engineers, security engineers, systems engineers, and data engineers.
• Focus on technical backend work (e.g., web services) as a full stack developer.
• Participate in on-call duty rotation after a one-year onboarding period.
• Adhere to core hours from 9 AM to 3 PM, five days per week.
