Job summary

GPRS is seeking a Senior Back-End Software Developer to design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance back-end services. You will contribute across the full lifecycle and mentor junior developers while collaborating with a team of engineers.

Responsibilities include architecture, API design, secure coding, performance optimization, and leading development efforts using .NET, Azure, and distributed systems. A Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years back-end or full-stack development experience.
  • Experience collaborating with a team of software developers.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and master new technologies.
  • 4+ years experience in Microservices (C# .NET 6/7/8, EF Core, Rest API).
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or MSSQL; Event Driven Architecture.
  • GitHub Actions or CI/CD tooling.
  • Kubernetes orchestration (AKS) and distributed systems.
  • Caching strategies (Redis).
  • Observability tools (logging/monitoring/tracing).
  • Azure Cloud (Functions, Service Bus, App Configuration, Application Insights).
  • Okta/Auth0 experience preferred.
  • Unit Testing with xUnit.
  • JIRA or equivalent PM tools.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and participates in the responsibilities of the development lifecycle.
  • Analyze business requirements
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX concepts
  • Provide development estimates based on defined scope
  • Architect and design solutions
  • Write technical specifications and documentation
  • Implement solutions by coding features, enhancements, bug fixes
  • Develop, debug, write unit tests, QA, and support
  • Apply secure coding practices and ensure data protection compliance
  • Optimize system performance based on monitoring feedback
  • Perform code reviews to ensure quality and standards
  • Perform database design and development
  • Oversee the development pipeline from development to production via automation
  • Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies or a hybrid SDLC
  • Work with Azure Cloud Services (Functions, Service Bus, Containers, App Configuration)
  • Optimize database structures and queries for spatial data (PostGIS)
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to juniors
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Job Location: OHJob Summary:

The Senior Back-End Software Developer will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance back-end web-based applications and services, including maintenance, testing, and debugging.

In addition to development, this individual will collaborate with a team of developers and occasionally assist junior developers in all facets of software development.

Job Goals
  • Contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle, from feasibility, solutioning, through development and release of the assigned applications
  • Ensure development processes, best practices, and standards are followed to produce a quality product
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in architecture, tooling, and development practices.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership for junior developers

    • Database Development – PostgreSQL, MSSQL or equivalent RDBMS
    • Event Driven Architecture
  • GitHub Actions or related CI/CD solutions
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices orchestration (AKS/Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of caching strategies (Redis or similar)
  • Experience with observability tools (logging, monitoring, tracing)
  • Azure Cloud experience

    • Azure App Configuration
    • Application Insights
  • Okta/Auth0 experience preferred
