Job summary

MACHINE LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES LLC seeks an experienced Backend Python Developer in Phoenix to design, build, and optimize scalable Python backends. You will create RESTful APIs with Flask, FastAPI, or Django, work with PostgreSQL, and implement asynchronous workflows and microservices.

You will also integrate real-time features with WebSockets, participate in Docker/Kubernetes deployments, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines while ensuring robust security with OAuth 2.0 and JWT.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in Python backend development and software engineering.
• Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services using Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including SQL queries, database design, and performance optimization.
• Experience with API integrations, authentication mechanisms, error handling, logging, and backend troubleshooting.
• Familiar with asynchronous processing, background jobs, and distributed systems architecture.
• Experience with workflow orchestration frameworks such as Temporal, Apache Airflow, or Celery.
• Exposure to real-time communication technologies such as WebSockets and Socket.IO.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using Pytest, unittest, or equivalent frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Git, pull requests, branching strategies, and collaborative code review practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-based application deployments.
• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, JWT, microservices architecture, and secure API development.
• Exposure to AI integrations, MCP, and AI-powered workflow automation is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently investigate and resolve technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications, services, and APIs using Python.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs using Python frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, and Django.
• Design and optimize database schemas, SQL queries, and data access operations using PostgreSQL.
• Develop backend integrations with internal and external systems, implementing secure authentication, error handling, logging, and monitoring.
• Implement asynchronous programming, background processing, and distributed workflows to support high-volume applications.
• Develop and maintain workflow orchestration and task execution solutions using Temporal, Apache Airflow, or Celery.
• Implement real-time communication capabilities using WebSockets, Socket.IO, and related technologies.
• Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests to ensure application quality, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams through Git-based workflows, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Support application containerization, deployment, and release management using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement secure backend solutions using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and microservices-based architecture.
• Explore and integrate AI capabilities, MCP, and AI-driven workflow automation into backend applications.
• Troubleshoot complex backend issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement effective technical solutions.
