Job summary

Chariot is seeking an experienced backend engineer to advance our platform and fintech product suite. You will lead architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and drive delivery in a fast-moving startup environment.

You will build scalable backend services using Go, Node, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, and AWS, collaborating closely with the CEO and founding engineers to scale contracts in the pipeline and support nonprofits worldwide.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
• 2+ years of backend development building scalable backend systems.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with Go, Node, Docker, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Postgres, REST APIs, and gRPC.
• Strong ownership and delivery mindset.
• Experience in fintech, payments, and nonprofit sectors a plus.
• Experience building secure, scalable applications on AWS a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and build out backend server applications and components powering the Chariot platform.
• Contribute to architecture and design of APIs, backend systems, and set team standards.
• Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies.
• Improve real-time and analytical monitoring and alerting to understand user behavior.
• Communicate effectively with founders, product managers, and other software developers.
• Manage and execute project plans and delivery commitments within Agile/Scrum.
