Chariot is seeking a Backend Engineer in New York City to build modern, end-to-end payment infrastructure for nonprofits. The role involves managing back-end server applications and contributing to API architecture.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
• 2+ years of backend application development building performant and scalable backend systems.
• Strong sense of responsibility and ability to drive a project from inception to completion.
• Experience in fintech, payments, and the nonprofit sector is a plus.
• Experience building secure and scalable applications on AWS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage back-end server applications that comprise the Chariot platform.
• Contribute to the architecture and design of APIs and back-end systems.
• Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies.
• Improve monitoring and alerting to better understand user behaviors.
• Communicate effectively with founders, product managers, and other developers.
• Manage and execute project plans within an Agile/Scrum environment.
