Job summary

Parafin in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own key platform components powering our lending products. You will build core infrastructure, collaborate with product, data science, and servicing teams, and ship platform features end-to-end with ownership and pride.

You’ll mentor teammates, improve code quality, and help scale our systems for growth. The role offers remote-friendly flexibility, strong equity, and a generous compensation package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering or platform-focused environment.
• Strong commitment to building high-quality software.
• Ability to own and drive development of new platform capabilities from the ground up.
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and willingness to learn.
• Excellent cross-functional communication with Engineering, Product, and Data Science teams.

Responsibilities

• Own development of key components of lending platform infrastructure.
• Collaborate with teams owning specific lending verticals to build platform capabilities.
• Identify and implement improvements to infrastructure for reliability and speed.
• Contribute to engineering culture via code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Mentor other engineers and drive improvements to team processes and code quality.
