Greater Giving, Inc. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer – Java to join our Launchpad team.

You will design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java and Spring, contributing to scalable, secure enterprise applications and supporting the full software development lifecycle. You will collaborate with architects and engineers to define API standards and best practices, write clean, well-tested code with JUnit and Mockito, and participate in code reviews.

Qualifications

• Design and build RESTful APIs in Java with Spring technologies.
• Experience with enterprise-scale applications and security.
• Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Spring Validation, Spring Modulith.
• Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to define API standards and application architecture.
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews with modern testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).
• Troubleshoot complex issues and drive performance, scalability, reliability, and health improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and communicate status, risks, and deliverables to stakeholders.
• Demonstrate strong ownership by proactively addressing challenges.
