Job summary

Zillion Technologies is seeking a mid-to-senior Backend Java Developer to design, implement, test, and maintain backend services for banking platforms. The role partners with analysts, QA, frontend engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

This candidate works independently on complex initiatives with minimal supervision and provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Java 17+ and enterprise Java stack.
• Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD tools (Maven, Jenkins, Docker).
• Strong understanding of SQL and data integration patterns.
• Experience designing scalable microservices and distributed systems.
• Cloud experience with Microsoft Azure is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure backend services and APIs.
• Ensure performance, reliability, resiliency, observability, quality, and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests.
• Apply secure coding and data protection standards.
• Troubleshoot production defects and bottlenecks in complex services.
• Refactor code and conduct peer reviews to improve quality and maintainability.
• Contribute to solution design, documentation, and proof-of-concepts.
• Support testing, deployment, and continuous operational improvement.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and advocate for continuous improvement.
• Share knowledge and mentor less experienced engineers.
