Job summary

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend focus.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience developing REST APIs and backend integrations.
• Hands-on experience in event-driven architectures.
• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Knowledge of distributed systems design and scalability.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and production release practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend integration services for POS and back-office modernization.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and backend services using Java/Spring Boot.
• Work within event-driven, message-based architecture for reliable integrations.
• Aim for high availability, scalability, and low latency distributed services.
• Develop integrations for labor management systems as a first project.
• Implement testing, retries, timeouts, and observability.
• Collaborate with engineering and business teams to translate requirements.
• Contribute to AI/GenAI initiatives and potential AI agent integrations.
• Participate in design reviews, debugging, and production support.
• Work in a small, collaborative engineering team.
