Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a strong backend focus and full-stack capabilities to design, build, test, and maintain scalable software systems. You will architect backend services, develop APIs, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, high-performance applications.

The role emphasizes deep backend expertise, cloud-native architectures, testing, and modern CI/CD practices, with collaboration across full stack when needed.

Qualifications

• 12–15+ years (or 10–13 years with Master’s Degree) of professional software development.
• Backend development experience in Java Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong automated testing across end-to-end, regression, and integration testing.
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Git/Gitlab.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Create and maintain testing architecture plans and system design for software applications.
• Build, test, and maintain high-performance, secure, and reliable applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, customers, and engineers to deliver features.
• Write clean, well-tested code following best practices.
• Review code and mentor junior engineers.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure for applications.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and planning events.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Act as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
