Job summary

NinjaTrader is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer II for the NT Connect team. You will design and evolve backend services, APIs, and integration layers powering brokers, fintech partners, and third-party platforms.

This senior role emphasizes distributed, real-time systems, and high-performance trading infrastructure. You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, QA, and cross-functional partners to deliver scalable solutions, ensuring security and reliability while integrating AI-assisted

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with distributed backend systems
• Strong proficiency in JVM-based languages (Scala/Java/Kotlin)
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and WebSocket services for external partners
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure (GCP)
• Knowledge of security practices for exposed APIs and backend services
• Ability to own projects from design to deployment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services for the NT Connect platform
• Architect and implement RESTful and WebSocket APIs for partner integrations
• Deploy and manage backend services in Kubernetes/GCP
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting with observability tooling
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet partner requirements
• Drive architectural decisions and technical roadmap
• Leverage AI coding agents to accelerate delivery
