Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Test Enablers team within Test Platform Engineering. You will design and build scalable platform capabilities for synthetic identities, test data seeding, mocking, load testing, and deterministic validation workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Backend engineering with Python, Kotlin, Java.
• Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems.
• Strong ownership and ability to drive ambiguous technical work to completion.
• Experience improving system reliability and observability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for async artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable systems for synthetic identities, test data seeding, mocking, load testing, and deterministic validation workflows.
• Evolve testing strategy toward component, integration, contract, performance, and targeted E2E testing.
• Build platform capabilities for safer, repeatable production-like load testing.
• Improve test platform reliability and observability for adoption by other teams.
• Partner with product engineering and infrastructure teams to improve test signal quality and reduce false failures.
• Lead medium-to-large technical projects from ambiguity through rollout and ownership.
• Improve reliability and operational maturity via dashboards, SLOs, alerts, and runbooks.
• Reduce manual load testing work like data creation and environment setup.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code for broad reuse.
• Contribute to specs, RFCs, ADRs, and project plans align teams on decisions.
• Review designs, provide feedback, and raise engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and foster practical testing excellence.
