Moody's is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to operate and continuously improve a self-hosted SQL Server estate on Linux and Kubernetes, within the Data Platform Team. You will own availability, performance, and data integrity for Moody's Insurance Solutions products, and contribute to AI-enabled data workflows.

You will handle database security, stateful workloads in Kubernetes, and on-call incident response, while collaborating across a distributed team to enable scalable, reliable services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend or data platform systems in production.
• Hands-on SQL Server administration and tuning.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Linux in production.
• Strong security, encryption, and data integrity practices.
• Familiarity with AI tools and responsible AI use.

Responsabilités

• Operate and improve a self-hosted SQL Server estate on Linux and Kubernetes.
• Manage Availability Groups and perform failovers.
• Tune performance at query, index, and instance level.
• Ensure security with encryption, least-privilege, auditing.
• Build change data capture pipelines with latency considerations.
• Contribute to on-call rotation and incident response.
