Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own performance and scalability of backend systems. You will design, develop, and optimize APIs, microservices, and data paths while mentoring teammates and collaborating with DevOps/SRE to ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in CS or related field required.
• 7+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong experience designing high-scale distributed systems.
• Proficient with performance testing and optimization tools.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools.
• Knowledge of cloud & container ecosystems (Azure, Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in production and pre-production.
• Lead performance testing, load testing, and capacity planning efforts.
• Collaborate with DevOps/SRE to improve resilience and scalability.
