Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, implement, and operate our most critical scalable services, including user identity, friend graph, and core persistence.

You will work across teams to understand requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver solutions to build innovative products. You will test, debug, and ensure high quality while applying best practices for availability, scalability, and cost management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field.
• 6+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or Master’s +5 years; or PhD +2 years.
• Experience with distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate our most critical and scalable services.
• Work across teams to understand product requirements and deliver solutions.
• Evaluate, test, and debug your work for high quality.
• Advocate for availability, scalability, and cost management.
