Job summary

Scrambly is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build core systems powering a global platform for app discovery. You will design scalable Node.js (NestJS) RESTful APIs and distributed services, while mentoring peers and shaping long-term architectural direction.

You will work across architecture, reliability, and tooling, collaborating with Product, Design, and QA to translate requirements into robust technical solutions and improve CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, backend-focused.
• Proficiency in Node.js and NestJS.
• Strong system design and backend architecture knowledge (RESTful APIs, distributed systems).
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable), Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm.
• Databases: PostgreSQL (relational) and Redis; messaging: RabbitMQ or Pub/Sub.
• Frontend autonomy with React for internal tools.
• Excellent written and spoken English (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable Node.js RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
• Monitor reliability, optimize CI/CD, and manage containerized lifecycles with DevOps partnerships.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA to translate requirements into robust specs.
