Job summary

•••••••• is hiring for Staff Backend Engineers to join our growing Engineering organization. This hybrid role focuses on security, scalability, and reliability of our platform trusted by clients. Office presence in Culver City is required three days a week.

You will mentor engineers, own end-to-end problems, and design secure authentication and IAM capabilities, while strengthening AWS infrastructure and ensuring high performance across services.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience building distributed systems with best practices.
• Backend-focused role with ability to work across the stack.
• Shipped meaningful work in security, scale, or infrastructure.
• Education: B.A./B.S. in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Java, AWS, and modern tech stacks (Spring Boot, Microservices).
• Experience in Fintech, payments, or security-sensitive environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering best practices and mentor other engineers.
• Own cross-service problems end-to-end from definition to rollout.
• Design and harden identity and access management capabilities (OAuth/OIDC).
• Strengthen AWS and cloud infrastructure security posture and guardrails.
• Improve database performance and security for high-volume systems.
• Harden APIs and distributed systems against failure and abuse.
• Drive production reliability and incident remediation with observability.
