SpaceXAI in Palo Alto, CA, is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build scalable, high-performance search infrastructure powering subscriptions, monetized products, user growth, and creator monetization. This role focuses on real-time indexing, data pipelines, and low-latency services driving revenue and growth.

You will own production services end-to-end, participate in incident responses, and push core search infrastructure with reliability and scale in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Proficient in high-performance Rust, C++ or JVM-based languages.
• Hands-on experience with search and indexing technologies (Elasticsearch, Lucene, or similar).
• Experience with OS internals, filesystems, networking, or database storage engines.
• Obsessed with performance, reliability, scalability and quality.

Responsibilities

• Design and build large scale search infrastructure (real-time indexing, serving, and data pipelines) with strict latency and reliability requirements.
• Go deep into search internals (indexing, query execution, and relevance) and shape the technical direction of core search infrastructure.
• Operate production services end to end, including monitoring, debugging, incident response, and performance optimization.
• Lead incident responses and recovery with peers; review postmortems and uphold high standards.
