Job summary

INSPYR Solutions is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the Software & Networking team in Redmond, WA. You will design, build, test, and deploy end-to-end backend services that power core ground systems communicating with satellites and ground stations.

The role requires 5+ years of backend experience, strong Java expertise, AWS, CDK/TypeScript, and distributed systems design. This 6-month assignment offers extension potential and the chance to impact mission-critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Strong experience with Java, including OO principles, data structures, and design patterns for scalable backend services.
• Experience with backend API development, distributed systems, and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with CDK/TypeScript or similar frameworks.
• Experience with AWS technologies (API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudWatch).
• Ability to design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-scale backend features end to end.
• Experience contributing to design requirements and solutions for critical or highly reliable systems.
• Ability to think strategically about system-wide impact, mitigate risk, and deploy safely in live environments.
• Comfort working on backend systems used by embedded customer teams incl. satellites/antennas.
• Ability to build and operate services supporting distributed, mission-critical workloads.
