Job summary

INSPYR Solutions is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer Contractor in Redmond, WA for a 6‑month engagement on site. The role focuses on building and supporting embedded software, OTA update frameworks, and automated test environments across satellite systems.

The ideal candidate has strong C/C++ and/or Rust experience, hands-on work across hardware and software domains, and readiness to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced engineering setting.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience developing embedded software systems.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Rust for production software.
• Experience with OTA software updates and software lifecycle management in embedded environments.
• Experience developing automated test solutions and supporting software validation activities.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and performing root cause analysis.
• Experience working across cross-functional engineering teams to resolve system-level issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software components using C/C++ and Rust.
• Build and enhance OTA software update agents and deployment capabilities across satellite systems.
• Develop and maintain automated testing solutions to improve software quality and deployment reliability.
• Support software integration and deployment activities across multiple embedded hardware and software components.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues identified during development, testing, and production operations.
• Perform root cause analysis of software failures and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with software, systems, test, and infrastructure teams to drive issues through resolution.
• Participate in ticket management workflows, including issue tracking, documentation, and status reporting.
• Provide operational support and participate in on-call activities as needed.
