Plentific is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join one of its cross-functional product teams. You will build and operate services for repairs, quoting, invoicing, payments, and contractor workflows using Python, Django, DRF, and FastAPI.

The role emphasizes reliability, security, and scalable architecture in a remote European setting. You will collaborate with product managers, frontend, QA, and other backend engineers, design data models, and drive CI/CD excellence while adopting

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python and Django with OO design fundamentals.
• Experience building/operating Django-based services in production on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Django REST Framework or FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, and CI/CD.
• Ability to translate product requirements into technical designs and code.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain APIs, microservices, and data pipelines using Python, Django, DRF, FastAPI.
• Design service boundaries, API contracts, ERDs, and data models for complex operations.
• Develop asynchronous workflows with Celery and Redis.
• Write complex SQL and optimise PostgreSQL schemas for performance.
• Review and refactor code to maintain quality and scalability.
