Job summary

Filevine, a Legal AI company, is seeking a senior backend engineer to join a high-impact team building a brand-new product using .NET Critter Stack (MartenDB and Wolverine), DDD, and event-driven design.

You will model complex legal domains, implement resilient event-sourced systems, and own end-to-end features from design to production monitoring. Remote-friendly with in-office options in SF, NY, Chicago, or Salt Lake City.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development with expert-level C# and .NET 8+.
• Deep, hands-on experience with Domain-Driven Design (strategic + tactical patterns).
• Hands-on experience with MartenDB and Wolverine (.NET Critter Stack).
• Strong grasp of CQRS, event sourcing, and PostgreSQL performance optimization.
• Experience in legal tech, workflow automation, or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or other observability platforms.
• Familiarity with Svelte, TypeScript, and frontend development.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement sophisticated legal domains using DDD.
• Model event-sourced systems with MartenDB and tenanted PostgreSQL storage.
• Design asynchronous, idempotent message handlers with Wolverine.
• Optimize PostgreSQL performance under high-throughput workloads.
• Own end-to-end features from domain to REST API and CI/CD pipelines.
• Enforce engineering excellence with ADRs and test coverage.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers in modern .NET practices.
• Collaborate with product, UX, and legal experts to translate workflows.
