GitLab is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for Tenant Controls. You will design, implement, and evolve backend capabilities for a global platform used by millions, working across product, frontend, infrastructure, data, and security in a remote-first environment.

You'll influence technical direction, mentor engineers, and help scale performance, reliability, and security while integrating agentic AI into production workflows. This role is remote worldwide with competitive compensation.

Formación

• Experience designing backend architectures for scalable platforms.
• Strong API design and integration skills.
• Experience with modular or microservices architectures.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and influence direction.
• Experience deploying agentic AI in production is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Design and deliver medium to complex backend features with minimal guidance.
• Set backend standards for APIs, testing, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product, design, and security teams in a remote-first environment.
• Mentor engineers and help remove blockers.
• Address performance issues and participate in incident response.
